To Dr. Eric Seidel, being a dentist means continuously learning new ways to improve a patient’s experience and treatment. For his undergrad, Dr. Seidel attended Grove City College, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology. In 2003, he graduated among the top of his class from Temple University School of Dentistry, where he earned induction into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.

Prior to entering private practice, Dr. Seidel completed a one-year dental residency program at St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he helped treat underserved members of the community. He completed post graduate training at The Pankey Institute and has extensive training in Invisalign and laser dentistry—and is a Top 1% Diamond Plus Invisalign provider!

 

Dr. Seidel is a firm believer in lifelong learning and has pursued additional training in cosmetic dentistry, root canal therapy, and restorative dentistry. He is a huge proponent of dental technology and introduced Invisalign, digital scanning, and laser dentistry into the practice. Learn more about Dr. Seidel in the Q&A below.

 

What is your hometown?

“I’m from Reading, PA. I currently live in Gettysburg.”

What inspired you to become a dentist?  

“I knew I wanted to pursue dentistry after I finished my undergrad. I was inspired by Janet Gehres and Dr. Scott Gradwell. When I completed my internship with Dr. Gradwell, I knew dentistry was the career for me.”

When did you join Gettysburg Dental Associates?

“I’m happy to say I joined Gettysburg Dental Associates back in 2006!”

What do you enjoy most about being a dentist?

“My patients. When I’m in my chair, the world ceases to exist for me. It doesn’t matter what else is going on—I’m fully focused on making your experience and your care exceptional.”

 

What does patient care mean to you?

“To me, patient care means giving people more than they expect. When I go somewhere, I look for how someone takes care of me—I want them to make me feel like I’m not a number. I want to be taken care of like a person and in an individual way, so I treat my patients the same way.”

Tell us about your family.

“My wife, Jennifer, and I have four beautiful children and a dog named Macy.”

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

“I love all things active and outdoors—skiing, hiking, water skiing, wake boarding, snowboarding, and watching my kids play sports, to name a few.
